Arkansas started the game in a hole early, down 17-4 at point. They finally got going and started to cut into Missouri’s lead by forcing turnovers and converting on the other end. The Hogs actually took a brief lead right before halftime after an 8-0 run put them up 30-29. Missouri would actually go on to lead at halftime 34-32 after Gafford hit a tough last second prayer of a shot he threw up as he was falling down.
In the second half, the game was a pretty close affair until the Hogs went on a big 10-0 run after being up 60-59. At the 2:28 mark, they were up 70-59. The Hogs closed it out and won 72-60.
Arkansas forced 24 turnovers including 13 steals. The Hogs were lead in scoring by 3 players in double figures, freshman Isaiah Joe with 23 points, Daniel Gafford with 13 points and Jalen Harris with 10 points.
Missouri was led by their sophomore guard Mark Smith with 22 points and sophomore forward Jeremiah Tilmon with 9 points.
Arkansas faces Texas Tech in Lubbock for the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Saturday at 5 pm.
