The #1 Ranked Alabama Crimson Tide rolled into Fayetteville, Arkansas for an early tilt with the Razorbacks and set the tone on the first play from scrimmage. Tua Tagovailoa faked a handoff and rolled to his right and hit Irv Smith Jr crossing over the middle for a 76 yard touchdown pass. Tua would add on to that, going an efficient 10/13 for 334 yards and 4 total TDs. Jalon Hurts also saw plenty of playing time in the second half going 4/5 for 59 yards while also adding 4 rushes for 35 yards.
Damien Harris, senior RB for the Tide, finished the day carrying the ball 15 times for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jerry Jeudy, sophomore WR for Bama, caught 4 passes for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns, 1 of which went for 60 yards.
Arkansas did have some success at times against Alabama’s defense. Junior TE Cheyenne O’Grady found the end zone twice Saturday, catching a TD from both Ty Storey and Cole Kelley. There were glimpses of hope in the running game as well with sophomore RB Rakeem Boyd carrying the ball 15 times for 102 yards including a long of 32.
At the end of the day, Alabama was just too much for Arkansas and showed why they are #1 in the country, winning 65-31.
