Little Rock, Arkansas–The 103 year state capitol came to life today as 44 young ladies from across state were introduced to start the 2018 Miss Arkansas pageant in Little Rock. It was all smiles as the contestants made their way past the judges and into the rotunda full of family and friends. Proud parents wore buttons with their daughters pictures as the cameras clicked away trying capture that special person in their lives. It was standing room only in the halls of the capitol as everyone from young kids to grandparents were trying to get autographed pictures of the girls.
The competition gets under way on Monday at the Robinson Auditorium. They will be competing for the next Miss Arkansas and hoping to get a part of the more than $184,000 in scholorships. The winner will be crowned by the current Miss Arkansas, Maggie Benton.
