For the 2nd year in a row, Arkansas lost to a Mountain West school. The Hogs were a 3 touchdown favorite coming into this game. San Jose State struck quickly with a 50 yard bomb on their first play from scrimmage. 6 plays later they hit pay-dirt and went up 7-0.

Arkansas would tie it a few possessions later on a 62 yard pass from Nick Starkel to Mike Woods. But that would be all the scoring the Hogs could muster in the first half.

The story was the Hogs defense giving up nearly 300 yards of offense and 24 points in the first half. They would end up giving up 503 total yards with 402 of that through the air to quarterback Josh Love. Arkansas never seemed to have an answer for the Spartans’ offense.

The other part of the equation was Nick Starkel throwing 5 interceptions on the night, 3 of those in the 2nd half. San Jose State won the turnover battle 5-1.

Arkansas now jumps back into SEC play with a trip to Arlington vs Texas A&M in Cowboy Stadium. The Hogs dropped to 2-2 (0-1 SEC)
