The #5 Arkansas Razorbacks won the Fayetteville Regional in dominant fashion Sunday evening, 6-0 vs the TCU Horned Frogs. The game was delayed 30 minutes due to lightning in the area but once the game got under way, Arkansas went to work. Patrick Wicklander got the start for the Hogs and did allow a couple of base runners in the first inning, but got out of it unscathed In the bottom of the first, Casey Martin got his first hit of the weekend with a single to center field. Matt Goodheart followed that with a single up the right side. Dominic Fletcher followed that with a 2 run double to left center. 2 batters later, Jack Kenley added a double to left center that scored Fletcher and put the Hogs up 3-0.
In the 5th inning, the Hogs added to their lead with a Trevor Ezell single and a Goodheart 2 run homer over right center, making it 5-0 at that point.
Goodheart started off the bottom of the 8th with a single and was replaced by Curtis Washington. Fletcher reached on a fielder’s choice and stole second as Kjerstad struck out swinging. Kenley hit a single up the middle that drove in Fletcher for the final scoring of the night.
Arkansas starter Patrick Wicklander picked up the win going 5 full innings while giving up 3 hits, 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. Cody Scroggins came in to start the 6th and worked 2 and 2/3rd innings giving up 2 hits and collecting 4 strikeouts.
